Tempur
With a delivery that was 7 weeks late, I finally slept on my very own first Tempur matrass last night. I didn’t sleep all too thoroughly, a cigar or two too many, but when I first woke this morning, no back-ache! Will test it for a few more days, but so far, so good! (just avoid Meubles Oestreicher if you value my opinion ;-))
Experts
To my IT and non-IT readers, here’s my latest. For 12 months, I’ve now had an HP PC at home. From day 1, I installed Ubuntu and it worked like a charm. Up until a month ago, where it would shut down whenever it reached a certain temperature. Luckily, within 12 months, there’s still a warranty to claim!
So one (1) month of repairs later, the only obvious thing Hewlett Packard did was deleting all of my data (thanks a bunch) and reinstalling Windows. If you buy a car, upgrade your tires on your own, and your engine starts choking, would you accept the garage’s repair to go back to your initial tires?

Weather forecasts and staying calm
For quite some time now, we’ve been told that we would have a very wintery winter. And what have we seen of this so far? -1° was the coldest I’ve seen? And every start of the week, a snow announcement for the weekend, 3 weeks in a row?
Will this finally be the day for it? All in all, it has made me review heating in the house, change good tires on the car to best tires, consider changing the garage door, buy petrol and wood and clothes…and so on.
I say, wait and see. Let’s not be controlled as a mass by fear. Let’s not be fall for consumerism. And let’s all accept a little change in weather for what it is: a change in weather.
Stay calm
In the spirit of the Hitchhiker’s Guide, stay calm. How often this year has there been a prediction of impensing doom? And how often did those cone true? I now have the best snowboots available, a snowshovel for the car as well as chains, and still… Nothing! (although snow would have been nice for me, unlike for quite a few others!)
Attention-span!
Due to popular demand, I shall go over to shorter articles, in the styles of those free-on-the-bus newspapers. Except of course, I will continue to make a difference between fact and fiction! :-)
tumblrbot asked: WHAT IS YOUR EARLIEST HUMAN MEMORY?
I am 31 today as a point of reference, and the earliest memory I think I recall is when I was about 4 or 5, when I took it upon myself to wash my first female friend’s hair in a sink at home, with both our parents not noticing a thing until it was done!
